A lonely heliconia (bird of paradise)
Flowers act as objects of desire and beauty to attract insects, they use color, smell, and divine proportions to keep the forest alive. Heliconias in South America are by no means difficult to find, you can see them in every garden of a tropical house, but this one was alone in the wild surviving beside the river.
